Have you ever seen the terror on the faces of the people in Alfred Hitchcock's movie the Birds? My face looks similar to that when birds fly around my head.
I hate birds. I hate them. I have funny stories explaining why I hate them. It wouldn't be funny if I told them here. They have to do with geese and swallows (enough said). I'm farily terrified of them flying around my head. When a bunch of birds are in a tree over my head i want to vomit...seriously. So anyway, I'm sitting here trying to finish two 10-pager papers, but I can't because of the dang birds.
I hear them outside my window and I am actually surprised about how little animosity I feel for them today. I don't blame them for being loud today, because it is April.
It is already April and I have no idea how we got here.

You would have never made it at ACU then, because they always seemed to have like a bird infestation! HA! I can recall three times of being pooped on by them going to classes or just walking around campus...they are BAD there!
Anyways, it's funny you mentioned the Thanksgiving trip, because it was RIGHT after I left that comment on your blog the other day that I was like, "Oh my gosh, I so bet that was Lindy's friend that she brought to Thanksgiving that we played games with!" HA! My bad. I'm not the best with names sometimes! HA!
As for your point about how you're really realizing how "important" and "vital" friends are to our community--YEP! As I see you're taking a similar trek as I did (Christian undergrad....big public graduate program...social work studies so a LOT of talk on community and social support) you've probably seeing like I have over the past couple years since leaving ACU that the close friendships you make during those undergraduate years are SOOO great! Especially when you can sustain them in the years to come even when we might move apart some.
Take care!
